“School’s Out” is looking for a brilliant OSCAR Programme Assistant to help in our children’s out of school care programme based at Central School in New Plymouth.
Our hours of operation are 7-8:45am, 2:30pm-5:30pm Monday- Friday during term time, then 7am-5:30pm Monday – Friday (excluding stats) during the school holidays.
Initially this is a casual position to cover staff absences but could become more regular for the right person. Possibility of full time work during the school holidays. This is not just a university summer job, we are after somebody long term.
Preference will be given to fun loving people who have experience in and enjoy working with children aged 5-13years, especially someone who can participate and organise sport and games on the spot! You must be reliable, honest, confident and have the energy and strength of character to work with groups of children every day whilst maintaining a ‘sunny disposition’!
A full clean drivers licence (preferably manual) is required as an important part of the role is picking up children from school in one of our vans. Please do not apply if you don’t have a full drivers licence.
This is a Core Worker role as per the definition under the Vulnerable Children’s Act. All staff are police vetted as part of the employment process.

WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
We are seeking a brilliant Programme Assistant Manager to help the Manager run our children’s out of school care programme for 5-13 year olds based at the Tauriko Settlers Hall just south of Tauranga.
The successful applicant will work a minimum of 5 hours per day, 1:30pm- 5:30pm Monday- Friday during the school term, and up to 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday over the school holidays.
Applicants need to be reliable, mature, genuinely interested and experienced in caring for children. Also fun, energetic and have the confidence and passion to become an excellent leader.
You will be supporting the Manager in all operational aspects, and will be expected to take charge of operations in the absence of the Manager. This is a Core Worker role as described under the Vulnerable Children’s Act. Training will be provided to the successful applicant in first aid and recognising signs of child abuse. All our staff are police vetted.
A full drivers licence is required as well as the confidence to drive with a minivan full of children. Please do not apply if you don’t have your full license.
We are looking for someone to commit to the role long-term. In return, we offer training in all aspects of the OSCAR profession, and the skills required to fulfill the role. This is definitely not just a holiday job!

Brilliant OSCAR Programme Assistants needed to help in our children’s out of school care programme based at Westshore School in Napier.
Great children and facilities. This is a permanent part-time position for a minimum of 2:15pm-4:15pm Monday-Friday during school term time
Possibility of some before school hours as well as full time Monday – Friday during school holidays.
We are looking for a reliable, mature, fun loving person who is “full of life” active, and able to show initiative. Lots of energy and laughter essential! Must be motivated, willing to learn, and enjoy working with children, especially 8-13year olds. On the job training will be provided. Opportunities to achieve a National Certificate in Recreation and Sport (OSCAR) Level 3 are available on the job.
Full drivers licence essential (preferably able to drive a manual vehicle), as well as the confidence to drive a van full of children, as an important part of the role is picking up children from other schools and taking them out on trips during the school holidays.
