Our holiday programmes are designed by each site manager, who know the children in their care and their interests. Managers use feedback and ideas from the children and parents when planning, to make sure they include all the popular favourites as well as new activities where children can develop different skills.
We keep in mind that the children have had a busy school term so also incorporate some relaxation time ensuring they can go back to school refreshed and ready to learn.
Once each Manager has planned the holiday programme for their centre, it is uploaded on to the relevant centre webpage so you can access it easily or print a copy for your convenience. Please click on the big blue star on the centre webpage to download the main holiday programme flyer. If the centre offers a “Teen Programme” it can be found by clicking on the relevant purple button on the centre webpage.
Holiday Booking Form
When your child is enrolled in the centre you just need to fill in a Booking Form for each holiday programme. This enables you to choose to book just individual days or the whole duration of the holiday programme. We require you to update all emergency contact details every holiday programme as this ensures we have your most current details. It is also a Ministry of Social Development requirement that the emergency contacts are completed each time. We can have your children in our care for up to 10 hours a day, each day of the . It is important we have all this information relevant to your child and it is kept up to date as your child grows. Please get your booking and payment in early as many of our programmes fill fast and we are limited in the number of children we are allowed to accommodate under our Ministry of Social Development approval. Booking are taken on a first in, first served basis and we cannot accept additional bookings once our MSD Approval limit has been met.
Staff to children ratios increase when we go offsite to 1:8 for trip days, and 1:6 if the children are doing a water based activity. Onsite our ratio is 1 adult to 10 children with a minimum of two staff.
Programmes for Older Children
Some of our centres have a separate ‘teen’ programme for the 10-13 year old’s in which the older children can partake in more challenging age appropriate activities.
Days of Operation
Our holiday programmes operate each day (Monday-Friday) of the school holidays besides the days between Christmas and New Year, and possibly a few days directly following New Year depending on parent demand. We are not open on public holidays such as Easter and regional Anniversary days.
