Holiday Programmes

SAFE

All School’s Out programmes are accredited by the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) ensuring regulatory compliance and Staff:Child ratios are maintained.

FUN

We aim to provide programmes that are fun and exciting for the children we look after. Activities are designed to encourage participation and engagement.

QUALITY

Don’t comprise on quality when it comes to the care of your precious children. School’s Out is an award winning provider of OSCAR care.

Our Holiday Programmes are designed to be Safe, Fun, and High Quality. Our goal is to ensure every child is engaged, actively participating, and ultimately having a fantastic time each day they attend.

Each programme is created by our staff, who know the children well—their interests, strengths, and what excites them. When planning, staff use feedback and ideas from both children and caregivers so they can include all the popular favourites, along with fresh new activities that encourage learning and skill development.

Once the Holiday Programme is finalised it is uploaded to the programme’s webpage for easy access. You can view it online or download and print a copy for your convenience—perfect for popping on the fridge! If a programme offers a “Seniors” Programme, this can also be found on the programme webpage via the relevant link.

We also recognise that children are coming off a busy school term—and for those attending the Summer Holiday Programme, the warmest time of the year. With this in mind, we intentionally build in ‘chill-out’ time so they can recharge, avoid burnout, and return to the new school term refreshed, energised, and ready to learn.

Holiday Booking Form

To enrol your child, simply head to your programme’s page and select the appropriate booking tile. This will direct you to our booking system, Enrolmy. From there, you can choose to book for the entire Holiday Programme or select the individual days that best suit your needs.

To secure your child’s place, we strongly recommend completing your booking and payment early, as many of our programmes fill quickly. Our capacity is limited by our Ministry of Social Development (MSD) approval, and bookings are accepted on a first in, first served basis. Once we reach our MSD limit, we are unable to accept additional bookings; however, we will do our best to accommodate your family through a waiting list process.

Please note that it is a MSD regulatory requirement that all emergency contact details and child information are kept up to date for every Holiday Programme.

Staff Ratios

We follow Ministry of Social Development guidelines when children are in the programme.  For offsite trip days, we increase supervision, and ratios are adjusted based on the activity taking place. All offsite activities are supported by a comprehensive Risk Assessment to ensure safety at all times.

Programmes for Older Children

Some of our programmes have a separate “Senior” programme for the 9/10-13 year old’s in which the older children can partake in more challenging, age-appropriate activities.

Days of Operation

Our Holiday Programmes operate Monday to Friday throughout the school holiday period, except on statutory public holidays and applicable regional Anniversary Days. We also have an annual close-down period between Christmas and New Year, and our operating days during this time are reviewed each year. Any closure dates will be clearly advertised on our Holiday Programme schedules.

During December, we accommodate the varying closing dates of schools by running both our Before and After School Care and our Holiday Programme for children who have already finished school. The same applies in late January and February as schools begin to return.
