About School’s Out tauriko
“The best place between school and home.”
Ko taku wahī motuhake
Welcome to School’s Out Tauriko. We are based in the Tauriko Settlers Hall and offer a safe and positive environment for children aged 5-13 years to learn, play and have fun.
Children are encouraged to participate in activities and to give new things a go. We value the ‘you will never know unless you try’ approach. We also cater to the separate interests of older and younger children, providing age appropriate activities. Above all, we are proud of our safe environment, where children can explore, play relax, laugh and most importantly: have fun!
After School Care
After school sessions at School’s Out Tauriko include afternoon tea and an opportunity for children to complete their homework. We communicate closely with the school, supporting and reinforcing their values. A range of activities are on offer including group games, crafts, sports, and baking.
Holiday programmes usually follow a theme and include a couple of trip days per week to local attractions. The centre-based days are a hive of activity, with children given a range of activities to choose from. We also understand that children sometimes need to rest and relax so they can go back to school ready to learn.
Art and craft, board games, cards, reading, puzzles, music and dancing, dramatic play, construction, outdoor play, free play
