About School’s Out Waipahihi

School’s Out Waipahihi opened its doors in January 2010. Our team of dedicated, permanent staff are all Police Vetted and love children.
Our recently renovated home away from home occupies a large indoor area with plenty of games and toys. In addition, we have a special space for quiet reading, an art room for daily art activities, a homework/movie room, and a fully self-contained kitchen for the children to bake in.
The huge outdoor play area offers a large sandpit, swings, play hut, ezyrollers and scooters as well as plenty of room to ride bikes. There are also lots of outdoor games and equipment. The grounds are fully fenced with access to the public domain and playground at the rear of the building.
After School Care
The majority of children at our centre attend Waipahihi Primary School, which is just a five minute walk. The children and staff walk from the school, and back to the centre every day. A substantial afternoon tea is provided for the children. The centre’s location has become a great success and now accepts children from other schools. These children arrive on local school buses which are always met by a staff member.
The staff are all passionate about the children and their families who attend School’s Out and make it their daily goal to encourage children to give everything a go and to develop their individual skills. Having fun and relaxing after school is a number one priority (once homework is completed of course!).
Holiday Programme
Schools Out also Waipahihi offers Holiday Programmes which include 2 trip days away from the centre each week. We understand that children also need R & R during the holidays so incorporates lazy days in the programme. Morning and afternoon tea is provided during the holidays, except on trip days.
WINZ Subsidies and Discounts
School’s Out Waipahihi is MSD approved, allowing many families to be eligible for OSCAR subsidies.
Families who are eligible for the full OSCAR WINZ subsidy can pay as little $4.00 per day per child for our After School Care and our Holiday Programme may be $0.00!
We also offer sibling discounts for 3 or more children.
